Sold with an insurance valuation from J.P. Guivier & Co. Ltd., London, dated 20th September 1979

Provenance
This cello previously belonged to the cellist and teacher Alison Dalrymple, who taught the current owner in the 1950s. At that time Jacqueline du Pré and Julian Lloyd Webber were also her pupils. Miss Dalrymple had purchased the cello from Hills, who were of the opinion that it was made by Widhalm. It was bought by the current owner in the late 1950s.

Miss Dalrymple was a soloist who travelled extensively on concert tours, as is shown by the labels on the cello's Hill case.
