A viola by Gasparo Piattellini

Florence, circa 1760

Little is known about Piattellini’s life in Florence, where he worked from circa 1738-1780, inspired by Florentine maker Gabrielli and the great Cremonese Amati family. This viola has the ideal proportions and dimensions required by modern players. Its sound is colourful and articulate yet warm.
