David Tecchler is considered the leading maker of the Roman school, although he was Austrian by birth and did not move to Rome until the 1690s. This instrument is based on a model that clearly shows Tecchler’s Austrian background whilst developing a more personal and Italian inspired model. Its sound is very clear and bright across all strings, the response is very quick and articulate.
