A violin by David Tecchler

Rome, 1694

David Tecchler is considered the leading maker of the Roman school, although he was Austrian by birth and did not move to Rome until the 1690s. This instrument is based on a model that clearly shows Tecchler’s Austrian background whilst developing a more personal and Italian inspired model.
