Cremona, 1662

The quality of violin-making in Cremona reached an unprecedented peak in the second half of the 17th century due to the influence of Nicolò Amati, who is considered the most outstanding craftsman of that distinguished family of makers. This instrument is in a spectacular state of preservation. The model is beautifully proportioned and all the materials are of exquisite quality. Tonally it meets all expectations - it has a strong core with a colourful range of overtones, an open bass register and a silvery treble.
