Considered to be one of the eminent violin makers of his generation, Sesto Rocchi continued the violin making tradition of Gaetano Sgarabotto and Leandro Bisiach. After the war Rocchi resumed making instruments in his own workshop from 1949. The clear lines and careful workmanship of this instrument, based on a Stradivari model, are typical of Rocchi’s work. This violin has a clear and open sound with a range of bright overtones and fast response.
