Provenance
Since the 1800s, the violin has remained in the possession of the same family, who were originally based in the Mantua area and moved to the countryside near Cremona in the 19^th century. Since then it has been passed from generation to generation but always maintained in its original state, with its original neck still intact.

Over the past ten years, the violin has been played by the Italian violinist Luca Fanfoni, for his interpretations of baroque and virtuoso violin repertoire.
