Born in Dornick in North West Germany in 1724, Johannes Theodorus Cuypers became one of the most important figures in Dutch violin making in the eighteenth century. This violin is in a superb state of preservation, bearing its original label.

It has a very earthy quality to its tone, is focused and rich in all registers and can handle bow pressure with ease.
