The son of Gaetano, Pietro was born in Milan in 1903. He trained as a violinist and began work as a maker in Vicenza in 1920. This violin was made a few years after he established his own workshop. It is in an exceptional state of preservation, was made on a personal interpretation of a Guarneri model and is covered in luminous red-orange varnish.

It has a focused yet resonant sound which is even across all registers.
