Giacomo Rivolta’s output of violins, violas and cellos was not insignificant, yet they rarely appear on the market. Count Cozio di Salabue loaned Rivolta instruments by Stradivari for the purpose of intense study. The craftsmanship of this beautiful violin is representative of the maker’s output, with elegantly carved f-holes, a well-rounded outline and a radiant golden varnish. The tonal qualities of this instrument are superb.
