Sold with a receipt from Sanderson & Taylor Ltd., Edinburgh, dated 31^st August 1979, and a letter from the maker, dated 1^st November 1979, explaining that the bow originally had a plain frog and was sent back to him in 1976 with a request to insert the thistle design.
