Charles Louis Bazin

The son of Charles Nicolas (II) was born in Mirecourt in 1881. He succeeded to the family business in 1907, although his father remained active until his death in 1915. Charles Louis served in the army during the First World War, but on his return enlarged the workshop, which subsequently employed many notable bowmakers. Stylistically, he developed the characteristic narrow head of the Bazin family bows into a broader form, and used round sticks with the brand ‘LOUIS BAZIN’, which were supplied widely to Paris dealers. In 1922 he was joined by his son Charles Alfred. He died in Mirecourt in 1953.
