Notable Sales: Charles Jean Baptiste Collin-Mézin II
Son, pupil and successor of Charles Jean I, Charles Jean Collin-Mézin II was born in Amboise in 1870, and spent some time in the U.S.A. before returning to the family business in 1900. His own instruments made after his father’s death are labelled Le Victorieux, but are stylistically and technically hard to distinguish. On his death in 1934, the business passed to his son Charles Jean-Baptiste.
