Born in 1953, Joseph Curtin was trained by Otto Erdesz, and later worked in Cremona where he joined forces with Gregg Alf. They worked together in Ann Arbour from 1984 making exact copies of classical instruments. Curtin is currently working independently, and concentrates particularly on acoustical research.
