Born in London in 1954 and initially trained as a harp maker, John Dilworth studied at the Newark School of Violin making from 1975-1979, and subsequently worked briefly for Max Möller in Amsterdam, and at J. & A. Beare in London until 1991. He has worked since then as a maker and restorer from his workshop in Twickenham, West London. Instruments in an imitative style, mostly with antiqued finish, and bench copies of specific master instruments.
