A violin by Pierre Jean Henri Hel
The son, pupil and successor of Pierre Joseph, Pierre Hel was born in Lille in 1884 and died there in 1931. A prolific maker of violins and bows, workmen in his shop also produced cheaper student quality work, alongside prize-winning instruments and bows.
