Paul Kaul

Born in Mirecourt in 1875, Kaul served his apprenticeship at Thibouville-Lamy before working for Silvestre and Maucotel in Paris from 1900. Established independently in Nantes in 1907 after working briefly for Vuillemin-Didion in the city, worked at rue Racine, and in the following year at 21 rue de Pont Communaeu. He also worked in Ancemis, Hyères and Cannes before returning to Paris in 1926, at 130 Boulevard Brune and finally rue de Rome. Influenced by the violinist Lucien Capet, he developed a new model under that name, and also collaborated with the violin writer and theoretician Dr Chenantais.
