Francesco Maurizi

Born in 1816 in Colle del Trento, Francesco was a farmer who also pursued violin making from 1840, later assisted by his son Giovanni. He died in Appignano del Tronto in 1903. Consistent style, using rather plain materials, but good golden orange varnish. The name ‘Carlo Maurizi’ was used in commercially made instruments imported to London, but have no connection.
