Èmile Auguste Ouchard

Emile Auguste Ouchard was a highly regarded bowmaker born in Mirecourt in 1900, the son of Emile François, who known as Ouchardpère’. Father and son worked jointly for Cuniot, and then established their own shop in 1922. Ouchardpère’ retired in 1937, and Emile Auguste moved to Paris in 1940, before leaving for the United States in 1946. There he worked for L. Rudié in New York, William Lewis in Chicago, and then for Jacques Français again in New York. He returned to France in 1960 and continued to work until his death in Gan in 1969.
