labelled Martin Stoss Kaiserlich Königlicher Hof Geigen und Lautenmacher in Wien 1809, ad Exemplar Ant & Hier Amati

Martin Stoss was not appointed 'Hofgeigenmacher', violin maker to the Viennese Court, until 1813, after the death of Michael Stadlmann, so it seems likely that Stoss deliberately pre-dated the label in this cello.
