Photographing your instrument for valuation

Below is a guide on how to photograph your instrument, along with some further information that would help our specialists at Ingles & Hayday provide you with a preliminary valuation. You can send us this information by either completing the valuation form on our Selling and Valuations page or by emailing us directly at info@ingleshayday.com.

Useful information about the instrument:

• Any relevant history of the instrument
• Copies of certificates, valuations (appraisals) or any other related documents that you think may be relevant to the instrument
• Length of back for instruments and weight for bows

Photographing your instrument:

We would recommend that you take the photographs of your instrument in natural daylight. Please provide colour photographs of the front, back and head (scroll) of an instrument, or the frog and head of a bow, as per the examples below.

Please note that this preliminary valuation is not suitable for insurance purposes. For insurance valuations, please go to Written Valuations and Certificates.
