Carl Heinrich Knopf

Born in Markneukirchen in 1839, Knopf was active in the workshops of Bausch and Neuner and later at Löwendall in Berlin, where he established his own business in 1868. The business flourished until his death in 1875, and he supplied many bows to Kittel in St Petersburg, which bear the Kittel brand. Those sold through his own shop are branded ‘H.KNOPF BERLIN’.
