Born in Épinal, Vosges in 1872, L’Humbert was trained by Derazey and Mougenot in Mirecourt, and worked for Blanchard in Lyons and Jombart, Bernardel and Silvestre in Paris, where he became independently established in 1906. Fine work on classical models, most of his work bears the labels of his various employers, but some are signed with his own name internally.
