Notable Sales: Alessandro Mezzadri
Mezzardi is an underestimated maker, the founder of the Ferrara school at the end of the seventeenth century, and a very stylish and individual luthier. A few works are known from around 1700 to 1734, showing slightly loose but effective workmanship, clearly based on Amati models, but with some possible influence from Giovanni Tononi in nearby Bologna, with whom he may have come into contact. Fine textured varnish with rich golden yellow to golden orange colouration.
