Notable Sales: Pietro Antonio Testore
Born in Milan in 1732, Pietro was the son of Paolo Antonio, and the last maker of the Testore family. His work is very basic and undisciplined, but renowned for tone. There are relatively few instruments attributed entirely to him, and he is presumed to have worked mostly with his father. He may also have worked alongside Carlo Fernando Landolfi, who was active for some time in the Testore workshop, and whose own son was also named Pietro Antonio. He died after 1780.
