Notable Sales: Joseph Arthur Vigneron
Born in Mirecourt in 1851, Joseph was trained by his step-father Claude Nicolas Husson. On his death in 1872 he worked for Jean-Joseph Martin until moving to Paris in 1880 to join Gand & Bernardel. In about 1888 he established his own business at 54 rue de Cléry. His work shows the influence of Bazin, and later Voirin and Vuillaume. He made some bows with a more triangular section developed by the violinist Capet, which are branded ‘Modèle Lucien Capet’. Assisted in later years by his son André, he died in Paris in 1905.
