A maker of the Emilia Romagna school, born in Lugo in 1890, Vistoli was a pupil of Nicola Utili in Castelbolognese, Ravenna, and also studied in Venice before returning to Lugo to establish his own shop. He was a prolific maker of fine Stradivari-modelled instruments. He died in Lugo in 1980.
