Leandro Bisiach’s output of instruments was prolific yet fine examples of his work don’t often appear on the market. The craftsmanship of this beautiful violin is representative of the Bisiach’s best output, with its elegantly carved f-holes, a well-rounded scroll of beautiful proportions and a luminous red varnish over a rich golden ground. The label reads ‘Copia Stradivari 1704’ and the outline of the violin suggests that this probably refers to the famous ‘Betts’ which is currently at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.. The tonal qualities of this instrument are superb.
