Born in Vicchio, Florence, in 1886, Bargelli was largely self-taught, but received some guidance from Igino Sderci when he moved to Florence from Sienna in 1926. His own workshop was established at 12 Via Saponai, where he was assisted by his son Gastone. He was a prolific maker and maintained the Florentine style. He died in Florence in 1963.
