Notable Sales: Arthur Richard Bultitude
Arthur Bultitude was born in 1908 and began an apprenticeship in the Hill workshop in Hanwell at the age of 13. His mentor was W.C. Retford. After the war he returned to the Hill shop as manager, where he remained until 1961, and the bows he made for Hills are numbered ‘6’. After leaving Hills he established his own business in Hawkurst in Kent, where he worked until his retirement in 1982. Many of his bows bear a Tudor Rose inlaid in the frog.
